Blink, and you might miss it. Tucked away on the quieter side of Mykonos, OSOM Resort (which stands for “The Other Side of Mykonos”) is a stylish, serene retreat that offers a perfect balance of luxury and tranquillity. We checked in for five nights in October to celebrate Martina’s birthday and discovered a hidden paradise. From the moment we stepped past the discreet entrance, the world outside faded away, and we knew we had found something special.
If paradise had an address, it might just be OSOM Resort Ornos in Greece. It’s a dream destination for those who love style, serenity, and a touch of luxury. Read our hotel review and see why this is the escape you’ve been searching for.
This boutique resort on the quieter side of the island is all about understated luxury, personalized service, and relaxation. With a pool overlooking the sea, shaded daybeds, and a calming Cycladic design, it’s tailored for those seeking peace without sacrificing style.

LOCATION – A privileged setting
Situated on a hillside overlooking the sea, OSOM Resort is ideally positioned between two contrasting beaches. Korfos Beach (150m away) is a kite-surfing hotspot where the sky is alive with sails dancing on the wind. It’s just a short five-minute stroll downhill, and from here, you can walk to the neighbouring Ornos village.
Korfos Beach
Ornos Beach (700 m) away, on the other hand, is a bustling bay lined with chic beach bars, seafood tavernas, and crystal clear waters. Here, everything you need is at your fingertips—whether it’s a freshly baked pastry from the local bakery or last-minute essentials from a pharmacy. Ornos Beach is ideal for families, young travellers, and couples. From here, daily boat services whisk you away to hidden beaches and even Delos, the sacred island of antiquity.
Ornos Beach, a lively stretch of gold sands, lies only a 12-minute walk from the hotel.
If you’re craving a taste of Chora’s famous nightlife, it’s just a 10-minute bus ride away (2.9km).
The Windmills of Mykonos are just a short 7-minute drive away from the hotel.
STYLE AND CHARACTER
This hotel doesn’t try too hard to impress—it simply does.
Understated yet unforgettable. The hotel embraces a less-is-more philosophy, where simple Cycladic lines meet contemporary design. Whitewashed, cube-shaped buildings with natural stone pathways shine in the sunlight and house the rooms and reception. This is Mykonos without the madness, where the trees and soft pink blossoms sway in the island breeze. It’s the perfect antidote to the island’s high-energy nightlife, offering an oasis of calm without sacrificing an ounce of style.
A boutique hideaway that gets everything just right.
Every element feels intentional. The rattan lampshades cast a golden glow over the breezy dining area, with earthy neutral tones that blend seamlessly into the landscape. The pool terrace with sun loungers is an oasis of calm, inviting everyone for lazy afternoons under the sun. The stone-clad bar and dining space invite guests to linger over a cocktail as the sun melts into the Aegean. The hotel’s architects have mastered the art of balance, offering a tranquil, design-forward escape without losing touch with the island’s signature spirit.
ROOMS
With only twelve rooms and suites, OSOM prioritizes quality over quantity and feels more like a private villa than a hotel. The original six hillside rooms boast sweeping sea views, offering a front-row seat to Mykonos’ stunning seascape. The newer rooms, the 2018 and 2019 additions, overlook the serene gardens and peaceful surrounding landscape.
We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to one of the most breathtaking suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with sunlight. The design is Cycladic minimalism at its finest. Crisp white walls, handcrafted wooden details, and geometric lighting create a warm yet contemporary aesthetic.
Every suite has its own private outdoor space. Whether in a Deluxe Suite with a sweeping sea view or a stylish Standard Double, you’ll find a space designed for relaxation.
FOOD AND DRINK
Mornings begin with the kind of breakfast you linger over. Served poolside under the soft Mykonian sun, the complimentary cook-to-order menu caters to every craving. Eggs Benedict drizzled with hollandaise sauce or Skinny Royal Eggs – it’s the kind of morning feast that sets the tone for a perfect day. If you lean toward the healthier side, opt for a granola bowl topped with fresh fruits or a Fitness Omelette. Whether you fancy a buttery croissant or fried egg Florentine Toastie, the menu ensures you’ll be well-fed before setting off for the day’s adventures.
While food is only available until 4 pm, there’s no shortage of dining options nearby. By 5 pm, the bar closes, meaning it’s time to head out—either to Ornos Beach’s tavernas or Mykonos Town. Staff are happy to assist in finding a restaurant that delivers, or you can stroll into Ornos, where beachfront tavernas and chic restaurants are plentiful.
POOL
If your idea of a holiday is a peaceful, sun-drenched pool with a stunning view, you’ve found your spot. Stretch out on a sun lounger, take in the gorgeous views, and let the world slow down. Sunbeds provide the perfect base for lazy afternoons with a book or cocktail. If you’re lucky, you might have it all to yourself, as most guests venture to the beach. With only 12 rooms, there’s never a battle for space. You’ll find two double cabana loungers for couples and a shallow end for families where the little ones can splash safely.
It has enough privacy to make you feel like you’ve found your own personal retreat.
Remember that the saltwater pool is unheated—refreshing in the summer, though it can feel crisp in late October.
STAFF
From the moment you arrive, you’re made to feel not just welcome, but valued. Every member of staff makes you feel like old friends rather than just visitors. Need restaurant recommendations? They’ll steer you towards the best spots on the island. Need help planning your itinerary? They have insider tips that go beyond the guidebooks. In-room tablets allow you to browse hotel services, from luggage storage to babysitting—but for everything else, just ask, and they’ll make it happen. Even with service limited to daytime hours, the warmth and efficiency of the staff ensure that everything runs like clockwork.
